Tips for Bringing Your Pet on a Las Vegas Trip

Look who stopped by the Golden Nugget today! Can you guess where Hunter is at? #huntforhunter #dtlv #vegas

A photo posted by Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino (@goldennuggetlv) on

Las Vegas is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world, and many pet owners want to bring their beloved companions along while they are enjoying the shows, food and gambling in this hub of entertainment. However, before you browse hotel suites in Las Vegas, you should check with the hotel staff on their pet policies.

Type of Pets Allowed

There are many pet friendly hotels and casinos in Las Vegas, but they usually have regulations about what types of pets can stay at their establishments, and the number of pets allowed in one room. Many hotels are dog friendly, but the staff may only allow two dogs in one hotel room, and they may have a weight and/or size limit for canine companions.

Make Reservations

Most pet friendly hotels reserve a limited number of rooms for animals, so it is a good idea to book your room ahead before you plan a Las Vegas vacation. Also, check in advance for any charges associated with pet friendly suites. Some hotels require security deposits and/or additional fees.

Where Are Pets Allowed in the Hotel?

In most cases, pets are limited to a certain number of places within a hotel, so it is a good idea to check with hotel staff when you arrive at your suite. However, if you have a service dog or a care animal, it may be allowed in places like casinos and restaurants.

Las Vegas: A Hub of International Experiences

If you are having a hard time deciding on where to take your next vacation, maybe you should consider taking a world tour of Las Vegas. Las Vegas is the one place where you can travel from Europe to Asia without having to get a passport or wait in line at customs. A tour of the downtown casinos in Las Vegas is a lot like traveling the world. Not only can you visit recreations of famous landmarks from New York to Paris to Cairo, you can even travel backward, and forward, in time.

Appeal to Your Senses

Las Vegas prides itself on appealing to all of our senses. Renowned for its excellent cuisine at affordable prices, every imaginable culinary delight is available to be sampled and savored. One of our favorites is Red Sushi in the Golden Nugget downtown. And with Las Vegas being a photographer’s paradise, you can capture photos from the times of the ancient Pharaohs to the American Old West at the height of the gold rush to the final frontier of space and beyond.

Strike Gold

Congratulations to this beautiful couple! Book your big day with us!

Even the lucky few who struck gold in the Old West could not have imagined the degree of modern comfort and luxury available today. Hotels provide visiting guests to their desert oasis with an astonishing variety of amenities, from catering to deep-tissue massage. That is one reason that an estimated 120,000 weddings are hosted there each year. To satisfy your sense of sound, musical entertainment is often provided for guests free of charge.

Enjoy the Architecture

Even our smallest guests know how to enjoy a day in #vegas #humpday #midweektemptation #thetank @hideoutpoolclub

While Las Vegas architecture is an art form itself, art lovers can also enjoy some of the world’s most amazing street art without even paying the price of admission to a museum. Offering the opportunity for budget-conscious vacationers to experience the luxury of gourmet dining, relaxing poolside and enjoying top-rate musical entertainment is what made Fremont Street famous.

Get Back What You Put In

A trip to Las Vegas can be your own personal reward program like those offered by the casinos. The more activities you participate in, the greater the rewards. Letting hotel staff worry about the cooking and cleaning while you take the time to appreciate the wonders of the world is one of the most rejuvenating experiences that life has to offer.

A Look at the History of Baccarat, Blackjack and Roulette

How much are you taking home today? #vegas #dtlv #gnlv #winningwednesday

A photo posted by Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino (@goldennuggetlv) on

Thanks to advanced digital, electronic and mechanical technology, gaming has come a long way. However, despite the bells and whistles of modern games, some table games remain very popular. Baccarat, Blackjack and Roulette have a long history that dates back hundreds of years.

Some believe that the card game was introduced to France in 1490 by soldiers serving under Charles VIII. The French version was known as “chemin de fer” and served as the basis for the modern game. The new pastime was particularly popular and remained synonymous among the French aristocrats through the 17th century. Legend also has it that the history of game involves Felix Falguiere arriving from Italy. He developed the game from Tarot cards in the latter part of the 15th century. Baccarat did not arrive in the United States until the 1950s when Tommy Renzoni brought the game from Italy.

Though the exact date of Blackjack’s origin remains largely unknown, history reports that the card game was initially known as “21”. The game came to the United States sometime around 1931 with the arrival of Nevada casinos. A winning hand must have included the ace of spades combined with a jack of clubs or spades. Due to this rule, the game became known as Blackjack. To this day, Blackjack is one of the most common games played by guests at casinos and hotels on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

A rudimentary form of the game was created by Blaise Pascal during the 17th century with his efforts to invent a perpetual motion machine. The game evolved over the next century and became a combination of the British games Ace of Hearts, E.O., Reiner and Roly-Poly. The name of the spinning wheeled game came from a French board game that was called “Roulette.” The version that most represents the current-day game was played as early as 1796 in Paris. History indicates that the game was enjoyed by Americans during 1886. The U.S. version at the time featured slots having the numbers 1 through 28, one zero, a double zero and an American eagle. Only approximately six of these original wheels are thought to remain in existence.
